KUALA LUMPUR: The report on the probe into the problems at Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) will be made public once it is handed over to the Transport Ministry, its minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat said.

Ong said the report, which had to fulfil some conditions imposed by the Finance Ministry, was now ready and would be handed over to him.

The audit was carried out by accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“I will be receiving the report soon together with the chronology of events,” he said after opening the Fourth South-East Asian Puer Tea Trade Fair here yesterday.

Ong had announced in May that an audit exercise would be carried out following a public outcry on the RM4.6bil “soft loan” given by the Government to revive PKFZ.

He said he had promised that the issue would be settled by the fourth quarter of this year and that he would reveal what had been compiled.
